The council reviewed the minutes from last month. Stacey motioned to approve, Desiree seconded. All were in favor.
Stacey presented the School Safety and Digital Citizenship plans to the council. The new filter for school devices is working very well. Aaron questioned what languages BARK filters. Stacey will look into how it filters Spanish. The council discussed inviting parents to a technology night with different stations to learn about filters, phone safety, online academic support, BARK for parents, etc. The school will also hold its annual NetSmartz assembly teaching kids about internet safety.
The council discussed the child access routing plan.
Stacey presented the Acadience Reading scores. The council discussed behavior in the school and how the skills room has been working this year. Stacey shared Rise and TSI. The school is seeing growth. There is a focus on kids with disabilities.
The council agreed to address the Parent Compact at the next meeting.
Stacey reviewed the various school events from the past month. The Fall Carnival was a big success. It was suggested that maybe the carnival should go longer and to involve 5th and 6th grade students as a student council to be in charge. The 3rd grade teachers and students put on a wonderful Veteran's Day program. Paint night is a free event for families that the school puts on every year. This year the art teacher will lead families in an art project. It is tonight at 6:00 pm.
Community Concerns: The council discussed the superintendent's monthly newsletter.
Stacey motioned to close the meeting, Rylie seconded. Meeting ended at 3:30 PM.
