They reviewed, updated, and adopted school web info and collected member contact information.

Members were assigned to review required training videos: Officer Training for Community Councils, Health and Safety for School Community Councils, Utah School and Institutional Trust System Overview, and History of School Land Trusts in Utah.

The council set the calendar for future meetings: January 9th and March 12th.

Stacey explained the School Land trust plan, how the budget works and is divided up. They discussed the School Improvement Plan. There is a growth mindset lesson in each class to help children progress and help them focus and grow. Motion to approve will be in January meeting.

Rhett asked about the Skills Coach budget. Stacey explained students have 1-2 strikes to follow a rule and on the 3rd strike they go to the Skills room where they have a lesson about the rule and come up with a plan to help them follow it. The goal of the Skills room is to make it a learning/growing experience, not a negative place.

Stacey presented on family engagement and school events. The Fall Carnival is coming up on October 27th. Book Fair will be October 11th and 12th during Parent Teach Conferences. Paint Night will take place in November. There is a group called "Moroni Strong" raising money to help children/students that can't afford supplies. They have helped arrange a charity vision event with SightBuddies. Optometrists will come to the school and provide eye exams and 2 pairs of glasses to each student who qualifies. This will take place on October 27th. Another group is putting on "Danny Dyches Christmas" December 15th. They will provide $100 each to 200 low-income students and their parents and take them Christmas shopping.

Community Concerns

Parent Drop-Off: Parents are parking and leaving their cars. Concern about safety in the crosswalk. Rhett suggested having teachers wear vests, carrying stop signs, use whistles as they keep the car drop-off zone moving. They also discussed training staff on what is expected and what needs to be enforced. It was also proposed we have 3 teachers at the crosswalk at all times. Mrs. Peterson agreed to take all these suggestions back to the teachers to implement.

Stacey moved to adjourn and Chelsea seconded the motion.
