April 2025 School Counselor Newsletter
As we return from Spring Break, it's a reminder that we’re in the final stretch of the school year.
In April and May, we will complete the last two lessons of the "Why Try" Program. Lesson 9, Plugging In, focuses on connecting with others when we feel stuck or need help—whether it’s parents, caregivers, friends, teachers, or mentors. Students will learn that asking for help is a sign of strength, not weakness.
Our featured books are Mr. Rabbit and the Lovely Present and Stone Soup.
Lesson 10, The Wall, encourages students to see the big picture and ties together the concepts from the entire program, helping them build opportunity, freedom, and self-respect. The books we’ll read are The Treasure, The Red Lemon, and Seven Blind Mice.
Family Night is Tuesday, April 22nd, at 6:00 PM. We hope to see you there!
Feel free to contact me with any questions you may have!
