The chairman was elected. Rhett Larsen elected Aaron Smith. Seconded by Chelsea. All were in favor. Kelly volunteered to serve as secretary. All were in favor. The council adopted rules of order and procedure. Council reviewed, updated, and adopted school website information.
The council assigned review of the following required web information and training videos: Officer training for Community Councils, Health and safety for school Community Councils, Utah school and Institutional Trust System overview, and History of School Land Trusts in Utah.
The council reviewed the calendar for future meetings- November 15, 2022, January 10, 2023, February 7, 2023, March 7, 2023 (if needed to finalize the plan and sign membership), April and May- the principal writes up the plans and submits for approval.
The council reviewed School Land trust plan and Teacher Student Success Plan (TSSP).
There was no PTO report as there is not currently one at our school. Teachers and school employees have been covering and putting on events.
Community Concerns: A parent expressed concerns about security, specifically on the playground. They are concerned about gates being left open and unlocked. They would like to see more supervision on the playground.
Rhett shared that he would like to see financial incentives for teachers who go above and beyond.
Rhett motioned to close the meeting, Stacey seconded. Meeting ended at 3:30 PM.
